"International Conference on Geo-Technical Challenges in Mining, Tunnelling and Underground Structures, 2021 (ICGMTU)" was held on 20th and 21st December 2021, virtually, attended by various participant Globally. On the occasion, it was decided to promote and encourage best work carried out by the Organisations by introducing "Green Awards" judged under the headings of, Environmental Best Practices, Best Green Neighborhood and Best Community Practices. Karadikolla Mine, M.L. No.2546, NEB Range, Sandur Taluk, Bellary District, of CCPL participated in the Green Award, and awarded "Gold Award-Best Environmental Practices" for the work on:

1. Excellent Environmental Protective Measures.
2. Phased Restoration of mined out lands.
3. Excellent nursery catering the requirements of plants at site.
4. Rainwater harvesting measures.

Award distribution ceremony was held virtually on 21st December, 2021. Applications were received from the various organisations across the Globe and total nine Companies were considered and judged under three heads. The team of Judges was headed by Jim O’Brien from Ireland.
