Spandan Eco Foundation
Situated in the biodiversity hotspot of the Western Ghats, Spandan Eco Park showcases the local flora and fauna. It exhibits organic farming methods, ancient methods of fertilization and pesticide usage, dairy products from locally bred cows, uses of solar energy and water harvesting to college and school groups as well as corporate visitors.
Spandan has also expanded into supporting the training and nutrition of athletes from rural Maharashtra. Coming from high altitude locations, these young men and women have a natural aptitude for endurance races, and some of them have gone on to represent India in various athletic events. These also translate into jobs for the athletes, under the sports quota that many companies have.
