The Salt Works is designed to produce 500,000 TPA of high purity salt using the solar evaporation technique. The layout has been designed using the latest technical know-how in solar salt technology. This ensures not only its operational success but even more importantly production of high quality chlor-alkali industry grade salt. Sea water is pumped into ponds and allowed to completely evaporate in the crystallizer to crystallize sodium chloride. The crystallizers, apart from being large enough to facilitate mechanical harvesting are peripherally brick lined to minimize contamination |
